Just recently a moderator just removed the image Monster Rancher Greywolf from my collection of screenshots of various characters and gaming images. It had been reported as art theft or no permission by someone who knows nothing about fair use.

All of the images are shown within my collection are within fair use rules of the copyright law. Screenshots of a game or images from a movie is within fair use, as in its only a small portion from the original author work as it does not prohibit the original owner from making revenue from their work. Because I am within fair use law of the United States I don't need to ask for permission from the original owner.

What would be different is if I were to post an entire episode of a tv show, very large portion of a movie or provide a pirated copy of a game. This would be direct violation of copyright law as in it would prohibit the original owner of the works to make commercial profit.

For those who need to know about Fair Use laws, they need to look it up and read about it before making wrong assumptions.

This entry was made a few months ago due to another removal many months ago. It seems some people don't know about US fair use law under section 107 that allows me to share images of any work. As stated in the law all shots are non commercial use, its a small portion, and it does not interfere the copyright holder to make money. The URL link is below.
